Forestry

Northern Pulp is committed to practicing sustainable and ecological forestry, including a fully implemented Lahey Report on owned and Crown managed lands, maintaining certification to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative ® (SFI) standard, and growing health forests with multiple tree species to support the fight against climate change.

Implementation of Lahey Triad Model needs strong pulpwood markets. Northern Pulp provides economically sustainable markets for sawmill chips and low-grade pulpwood including off-species such as pine, larch and poplar.

To date, Northern Pulp has partnered to protect over 60,000 hectares of land for conservation and will continue to work with the Province to protect high value ecological forest lands. We will also maintain an open gate policy on company owned land to promote recreational use.
